The Hong Kong SAR government has started receiving applications for Capital Investment Entrant Scheme on October 27, 2003. Any person who invests no less than HK$6.5 million in permissible investment assets in Hong Kong will be eligible for Hong Kong residency as capital investment entrants, together with their dependents, such as their spouse and unmarried dependent children under the age of 18. They may also apply for the Hong Kong permanent residency after seven years of continuous ordinary residence in Hong Kong. Entrants can invest in one or a combination of the two permissible asset classes, namely, real estates and financial assets. Real estates comprise of commercial, industrial or residential properties, including land and pre-completion properties in Hong Kong. Specified financial assets include equities, debt securities, certificates of deposits, subordinated debt and eligible collective investment schemes (i.e. unit trusts or mutual funds).
The Scheme currently applies to foreign nationals, Macau SAR residents, Chinese nationals who have obtained permanent resident status in a foreign country, stateless persons who have obtained permanent resident status in a foreign country with proven re-entry facilities and residents of Taiwan. The new policy does not apply to Mainland residents at this stage.
Entrants can invest in permissible investment assets within six months before or after the date of application. Entrants are not allowed to release or cash in any capital appreciation of the qualifying portfolio. On the other hand, if the value of the portfolio falls below the original level of HK$6.5 million, no topping up is required.

Wing On Travel Agency is responsible for organizing and leading trips in Hong Kong. In meantime, Hong Kong Property would offer help on leading the trips and promoting Wharf's property and real estates.
